odma lists no instances to migrate

I have installed oracle 9i in a new oracle home on my RH Linux 7.1 system. I have an Oracle 8.1.7 instance running on this box as well. When I run the Oracle Data Migration Assistant, no instanced display under the "Select a Database Instance" screen. BTW, this happens in both my 817 and 901 odma's.

Anyone have any ideas?
