ODI Studio stuck on "Initialize Search Engine"

I have been working fine with ODI Studio 11g for several months.
All of a sudden, whenever I try to open any object, it appears to try to open the Find Object window, and there is a popup dialog box with a progress meter and the message "Initialize Search Engine".

And then ODI stops resonding and the dialog box just stays there. I have to actually kill odi.exe from the Windows process manager to stop it.

And our DBAs tell be that there is nothing happening in the repository connection - so it seems to be a purely Windows problem.

I am running under Windows 7 - 64bit - so maybe it is a problem with that??

I am about to try uninstalling and reinstalling ODI Studio - but has anyone seen this?
