ODI Scenarios migration from Test to Production

673698Feb 2 2009 — edited Sep 27 2010
Hi all,

I developed some scenarios in a test environment, and I have to migrate them in the production environment (with separate master/work repositories). In the TEST environment, there are some currently used working scenarios yet.

The steps the customer has used (until now) to do this operation are:

- export topology (dataservers with physical schemas) from TEST and import in PROD
- export of models from TEST and import in PROD
- manual recreation of logical architecture
- export of ODI projects from TEST and import in PROD (with DUPLICATE option)

By the way, the customer told me there were troubles with interfaces in imported scenarios: all the mappings were invalid, e they wasted a long time to fix them. Once imported and fixed everything, they regenerated the scenarios from the Designer.

I was wondering if there were a smarter method to import single scenarios from one environment to another... what is the correct way (best practices) to do this, avoiding unexpected overwritings of ODI objects?

thank you!
