ODI - DIM Adapter: loading text data into planning application

Need help , We have a requirement where load and extract of "text" is required. We are being told that using ODI DIM adapter we would be able to load and extract "text" data from planning application.
our understanding so far has been that planning application would convert text to numeric key and from essbase we can only extract this numeric key. There is blog around this , but no further information:

To give a better understanding of our requirement:
say our account dimension say has member called "Title" , user enters "text" against this member, say " FIFA". We now need to extract "FIFA" out and also update same field by say "JUMP" .
any information or pointer how to resolve this would be appreciated. Also note that we are using EPMA and not classic
