I am running Windows 10 Pro. I have ODI 12.2.1 installed as well as Oracle Database 11g Express Edition, Oracle SQL Developer 4.2 and MS SQL Server Express 2016 (SQLExpress).
I have been able to configure SQL Developer to connect to both databases and run simple selects on both of them.
I have been able to work through the ODI tutorials and connect to the XE database.
I can't, for the life of me, get ODI to connect to SQLExpress.
I have read through the documentation, as well as KB Articles 423914.1, 807235.1, 2023446.1, among others hosted by both Oracle & Microsoft.
I have attempted to use both the delivered Microsoft SQL Server DataDirect JDBC Driver as well as the latest Microsoft JDBC Driver 6.0 for SQL Server. In the case of the MS JDBC driver, I first copied sqljdbc.jar to my c:\users\...userlib folder; but, then replaced it with sqljdbc42.jar from the same download.
I have configured SQL Server Network Protocols for TCP/IP to ensure that all the listed IPs are Active, Enabled & listening using on port 1433. Previously, I also opened port 1433 on Windows Firewall; but, I have since disabled the firewall while trying to get this going to remove one of the variables.
I have had an SR open for some time requesting assistance; but, none of those technicians have been able to help me as yet.
The closest I appear to have gotten to being successful is generating the error "ODI-26039: Connection Failed" with the description "
java.sql.SQLException: [FMWGEN][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: localhost:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connect
at oracle.odi.jdbc.datasource.LoginTimeoutDatasourceAdapter.doGetConnection(LoginTimeoutDatasourceAdapter.java:144) ...".
Am I searching for a pink unicorn? If not, can someone please help me get this configured?
Thanks, in advance, for any assistance or direction you may be able to provide!
