ODI 12c: Archive (Export) and Purge Operator Logs

PiusVMar 14 2017 — edited Mar 28 2017

Hello ODI-Experts

We are looking for a smart solution to purge our Operator logs but preserve the Information about the executions / runtime.

We've built several views for gathering runtime stats about sessions, Scenarios, schedulers and stuff out of the work repo. Our Problem is that the Operator tab in the odi Studio slows down and we'd like to purge the Operator logs.

Once in the week we backup the Operator logs with a built package (full backup of all executions) but this takes so long (around 24h) that we are looking for a new solution right now.

Online I've found several approachs for this but most of them are for ODI 10 or 11 (for example here from Gurcan Orhan: https://gurcanorhan.wordpress.com/2012/12/05/archiving-odi-logs/ ).

There are also Oracle MOS-Docs (Doc ID 424663.1 ) about the Execution Log Tables but just for ODI 10g and 11g.

So my questions are:

-     Does anyone already have a solution for 12.2.1?

-     How do you preserve your execution informations?

-     How could we speed up the backup? For "just" 68'000 Scenario-Executions the Operator backup needs around 24h

Thank you for some advices, links, informations shared and best regards from switzerland

Pius
