ODBC using client 11g MS Access 2010 very slow accessing Lawson db over a network using Windows 7 SP1 32bit PC. At random, I was working to move a set of queries from MS Access to Crystal Reports in order to publish a report for a customer and I was suprised at the difference in speed. I have duplicated the queries I use in MS Access within Crystal Reports (same tables, same links and join formats) and with CR the data is returned instantly. The same queries in access can take 10-20x longer if not more. One query takes around an hour to run in Access and the same exact queries/data was retreived in CR within seconds. How do I troubleshoot this? The CR ODBC connection says it is RDO...is this different than the Oracle client 11g? I am not techically skilled in the ODBC world. Thanks for your help.
