ODBC Read/Write via MS Excel

449413May 12 2006 — edited May 15 2006
I can connect to my XE database just fine via the ODBC driver which gets installed with XE. If I connect to the data source from within Excel, the records are retrieved with no problems and I can see all the data.

The problem is, "see" is all I can do... apparently the data is read-only to Excel (2002). If I try to modify or add data in the spreadsheet and then click Refresh on the "External Data" toolbar in Excel, the changes are gone and the data reverts back to the original state.

I think maybe this is an Excel issue rather than an Oracle/ODBC one, but I can't seem to determine one way or the other. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
