ODBC for Windows 98 / Windows 2000 with latest Oracle ODBC driver 8.1.7.8b

My software sit on oracle database. I have installed the Oracle 8i enterprise edition successfully in the server. There are 2 workstations linked up to this server. One is win98 and the other one is win2k professional edition. My software has a client setup function. So normally I will install the client setup from the server to the workstation.
Now, as I am designing reports using Seagate Crystal Report Designer, I need to connect the database using ODBC driver. I tried to install the Oracle ODBC driver 8.1.7.8b.0 into the windows98 workstation but it prompted me error msg like"oracle default home is not found..."when i tried to add the user DSN. I dont know if I have installed the oracle client 8i already or not. How can I checked? Please advise. And how do I solved the above problems?
When I tried on windows 2000 workstation, it also give me the same error message! Please revert asap as my client need this report urgently. Thank you for your understanding and hope to hear from you soon.
Take care and have a nice day.
Cheers,
Chivas
