ODBC-error using 32-bit ODBC driver in Windows x64

ddekockJan 27 2011 — edited Feb 13 2011
Hello everybody,

Currently I am working for a customer where I installed Oracle BI 11g on a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 server. Everything works fine expect off course the AdminTool which I use on another 32-bit machine.

On this 32-bit machine I started with building a small RPD-file. This RPD-file only joins two tables and give those tables to the end-users. On this machine I can preview the data within RPD-file and everything seems to work fine. After that I uploaded the RPD-file to the x64-server and try to query the database. I can select the Subject Area I created and the underlying tables and columns. But when I want to see the data I get the following error:

+[nQSError: 16001] ODBC-foutstatus: IM014 code: 0 bericht: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application. (HY000)+

The ODBC I use on the 32-bit machine is also on the x64-server, under C:/Windows/SysWOW64/odbcad32.exe. Because I only have a 32-bit driver I am not able to create the same ODBC within C:/Windows/System32/odbcad32.exe.

Does anyone got an idea what's going wrong and off course what I can do about this?

Thanks for your help in advance!
