ODBC and MDAC Help

We just put in MDAC 2.7 (had 2.5) now i cannot connect via Microsoft ODBC for Oracle to my database. I am using Oracle client 8.1.7. I suspect something is up with the MDAC because when I loaded MDAC 2.6 sp1 on another machine and used all the other same connections, it worked. Any help here?
