Im not quite sure how to word this, but I recently had a team mate that was "playing" around in our Weblogic Console in our DEV enviroment.
It looks like some how BI Publisher was undeployed/removed.
We can see that the BI Publisher service is "down", so we tried to restart the services a few times though it just does not start. It keeps on staying in a "down" state.
We do take semi regular file based back ups of our environment.
So in our linux box, there is a fully zipped/.tar file of our entire OBIEE/BI Publisher folder BEFORE BI Publisher was removed.
I was just wondering, in order to recover in this instance, would it be as simple as to restore any missing files between the current folder and the backed up zipped folder?
We have not had to do a "recovery" like this before, so am not sure the steps, or if we can even recover properly.
A lot of documentation that I have read from Oracle seems to allude to the fact that if something has gone "wrong", the best method to recover is to restore the entire folder that was affected within the OBIEE directory.
Im not sure if it would be as simple as restoring missing files/folders in any disaster recovery?
Any insight appreciated.
