OBIEE 11g: Presentation Services tmp locations/ cleanup

CherrishMar 22 2012 — edited Mar 22 2012
Hi,

I have a 2 node BI system with presentation services running on just one. During the business hours, Presentation tmp files generated sometimes becomes huge filling up the BI HOME. I came across the following document:

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10541/querycaching.htm#BIESG122

"The files for the Presentation Services cache have names such as nQS_xxxx_x_xxxxxx.TMP. The files are created by the ODBC driver but generally do correspond to ODBC requests that the Presentation Services cache keeps open. The files are stored in the following directory:

ORACLE_INSTANCE\tmp\OracleBIPresentationServices\coreapplication_obipsn\obis_temp

The files for the cache are removed whenever Presentation Services shuts down cleanly."

I would like to know

1) Is there a parameter or a file setting by which I can set the tmp to a different location/mount point??

2) What is the size of Oracle BI Instance home mount point and how many GB have you kept free? In my case we have 100 concurrent users and a total user of 1500.

Thanks
Cherrish Vaidiyan
