OBIEE 11g - Excel as data source - Linux/Unix

Hello all,

Is it possible to use excel as datasource in Linux installed OBIEE. Kindly let me know if any insights on this. I mean can i create a datasource in linux for excel and access that file from a linux path in OBIEE? Any helps will be highly appreciated.
