OBIEE 11G Authorization based on External Table

Hello,

In 10G, we implemented Authentication & Authorization in almost the similar way as explained in the below blog.

http://obieeblog.wordpress.com/2009/06/18/obiee-security-enforcement-%E2%80%93-external-database-table-authorization/

Now we are planning to upgrade our system to 11G. As part of Dev testing, we did installed 11g and migrated RPD & Web Catalog. It seems like External Table Authentication is working fine, but the user is not able to see any Subject Areas once logging into answers (User can see his reports which were developed in 10G as web catalog was migrated, but editing the reports gives an error saying no Access). I know there is a substantial change in Security part from 11G perspective compared to 10G and am not clear about the change from Groups to Application Roles. In 10G, we need to create the Catalog Groups in Presentation Services same as the Group names in the external tables. Is it same in 11g, I mean we need to create the Application Roles same as the Group names in the external tables.

I would appreciate if someone can guide me through the Authorization process of 11G.

Thanks in advance!

-Dinee
