NullPointerException when running DBCA for 12.2.0.1 on Win 7

I have installed sw for Oracle db 12.2.0.1 (x64) on Windows 7 (64bit), and wanted to run DBCA in order to create a database..

however, at the very beginning of dbca, while splash screen is still here, I am getting java.lang.nullPointerException error.

I found doc ID 1582583.1 being related to that error and solution is:

Install Xming-fonts package and retry DBCA.

Latest version of XMing X server and Xming-fonts package can be downloaded from http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/

which I did, and tried it all again, but still the same error.

anyone had the same issue?
