'No such interface supported' - Word 2003

Whenever I try and add a word document to a project I get the following error:

'unable to cast com object of type 'microsoft.office.interop.word.applicationclass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word._application' .................etc etc 'No such interface supported. (0x80004002)'

Does anyone know why this is happening? It never happened before. I'm using Office 2003
