No network interface, only loopback

I just installed Solaris 9 x86. The DCA finds my NIC, a 3Com 3C590C TX M, but when I type in ifconfig -a, it only shows the loopback. I'm very new to Solaris so I'm not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?
