No Compatible Device

Hi!

I am totally new to 3D and Java3D programming.
I downloaded Java3D1.3 and installed DirectX 8.0 on my win2k
System with S3Inc. savage4 Display adapter.

When I run the HelloUniverse.java available in demo, I get the
following error message on screen:

"No compatible device found, please switch to other display
mode and try again."

My display mode is 800 X 600 (32 bit) (60 Hz).

Can somebody help me please.
