NLS_LANG lost

Dear DBAs,

the situation is that i have a critical table containing arabic words, but the issue is that we can't read these words as we don't have the initial NLS_LANG used during the "insert" of the data.

In other word the initial NLS_LANG used by this special user(during the insert) is lost, so we tried to set the NLS_LANG as the NLS_CHARACTERSET and i got the same result.

so is there any way to find the initial nls_lang ?
