New to Solaris

807557Oct 18 2007 — edited Oct 18 2007
Hi,

I am new to open systems. There is this course I'm taking in computer systems administration that requires me to use sun solaris 10.

I have the root password and I am suppose to create a user account for someone. I know the command to do that (useradd). The problem is while I was trying to figure out how to use useradd, I had mistakingly (somehow) used the user id that I am supposed to assign to this new user. So everytime I try to create the user account with the user id, the system tells me "the user id is already in use. Choose another one".

I have to use the user id that is already in use, can someone help me out with deleting user ids.

Thank you.
