New to SOA - Learning steps for end to end SOA / ADF application.

Hi Guys and Gals,

My end goal is to create an SOA application for Quickbooks. I'm just not sure how to get there from here. I've got solid 1 1/2 years of ADF experience, but by and large, this is not what I do for a living so wading through all the SOA documentation can be a little confusing, especially since I've never done anything with SOA.

From what I gather from reading is that I would need the SOA Suite 11g to interact with the QuickBooks Web Connector ( https://ipp.developer.intuit.com/0085_QuickBooks_Windows_SDK/010_qb/0010_Get_Oriented/0080_QuickBooks_Web_Connector ).

This would allow me to pull information out of Quickbooks. From there I would use BPEL to route the various calls (information requests and responses?) to and from web services that I would write. Most of these web services would be exposed via the ADF framework.

Does this even sound remotely correct? How does WebCenter fit into all this? When I look for ADF jobs, SOA and Webcenter are often in the job requirements, but oddly enough, SOA Suite 11g isn't even in the index of the Oracle WebCenter 11g Handbook. Neither SOA Suite nor WebCenter is in the JDeveloper 11g index. Only in the Oracle SOA Suite 11gR1 Developer's Guide does it say WebCenter can be used to developer the UI for SOA applications. But then it doesn't say how or why.

So how are they all interconnected? If I have a good grasp of the JDeveloper 11g Handbook (ADF), where
do I go from here?

Thank you in advance.
