New to Java and Virtual Machine

Greeting,
Newbie here and a bit confused. I installed VM trial from Microsoft last night. The machine install went fine. When I started to install the OS (W2K) it wanted to install to C:\ and it wanted to format it to NTFS. I freaked and canceled everything.
Keep in mind all of this occurred in a seperate window. Now, at my system startup there is an additional option for Windows 2000 Set up. This was never there prior to last night. Any thoughts? Thanks
