New to GeoRaster (new problems II)

Now I'm just learning the basics with Oracle Spatial GeoRaster Developer's Guide but before I go deeper with it, I'd like to begin testing some tools and techniques that I'll need to handle soon. Basically, I'll need to be able to load raster data onto my Oracle DB (from sources such as .tif files), operate with that data obtaining new raster tables, and view the results (directly on a viewer that reads from the DB, or exporting the table to a file in order to view it with a GIS tool).
First of all, I want to learn how to import and export raster data from the Oracle DB so I wanted to ask you about the methods and tools you use to do that. In the manual I'm following I ended in Oracle's web page (+Oracle Spatial Partners' Downloads & Plug-ins+ section) where I found some interesting applications such as "FME Desktop" that could serve quite well... but all of them are commercial tools and I just was able to get trials and evaluation versions.
Do you know of other opensource tools that I could use? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
PS: I'm running Oracle is 11g R2 Enterprise (11.2.0.1.0) on Windows 7.
