New install for Application Express

558416Jan 26 2007 — edited Jan 31 2007
Hello:

I'm running Windows XP and Oracle 10g on my laptop. The installation of 10g was successful.

I now want to install Application Express. I know that the install is basically a two step process: installing the HTTP server and the actual software.

My first question is, which do I install first? HTTP Server or the software?

Where do I find the install for the HTTP Server? A tutorial I found for APEX stated to download the companion CD and install from there. Then, I found another installation document which doesn't mention the companion CD at all.

Can someone provide me a link for the correct installation document?

Since I have 10g installed and running on my laptop, can I install APEX on the laptop as well? I found a post which said the opposite. I'd like to know what is correct?

Thank you for your time. Any help you can give me for a successful install would be great!

Have a great weekend everyone!
