New HVM virtual machine stuck in startup status ; cannot connect to console

Bob WeinmannDec 29 2011 — edited Dec 30 2011
We just completed a build of a new OVM pool using 3.0.3. There is currently one server in the pool and we are using iscsi for pool fs and repository.
We had no issues creating the network and storage resources.

I just defined a HVM machine using the Oracle Linix 5.7_64 iso which was imported into the repository with no problems. After booting the vm, it remains locked with a status of "starting". When I try to open a vnc console using realvnc on my Win 7 pc, I get the following error from vnc after the jnlp file is launched:

The connection closed unexpectedly. Do you wish to reconnect to 127.0.0.1:52312?

The slot positions are disk1 first; Oracle Linux iso in CDROM second. The boot order of the vm is disk1; then CDROM.

Is this config correct and how do I unlock the vm to try and correct any config problems?

Thanks,

Bob
