network adapters not starting

Oracle Linux 6 on VirtualBox

This seems to fall between the cracks between VBox and the linux guest, but it seems to me that it is more of a linux question.

So, I cloned a vbox guest, choosing to generate new mac addresses for all (2) adapters, and choosing 'full' clone .. not linked to the original. Naturally, the mac addresses in the ifcfg-eth* files did not match the addresses newly assigned by vbox in the cloning process, so I signed on as root at the console and modified them. Here is a screen shot of the hardware configuration of the vm, so you can see the mac address and NIC configuration of one of the adapters. The second (not shown) is configured NAT, and has the same issue.

But even after reboot, it is not operating:
