Nero Data CD using 8.3 names on Solaris 10
807557Apr 9 2005 — edited Apr 11 2005My understanding is that vold should recognize iso9660 with rock-ridge extensions, and therefore mount a cd created by nero and show the long names.
Environment: 5.10.1 03/05
Nope ... I can move the CD to another Windows box, and the long names are there. Allow vold to mount it on Solaris10, and I'm back to 8.3 names.
There is no option on Nero 6.8 that I could find that would change this behaviour for the burn.
- Are there options to vold I must change to get long names?
- Must I manually mount the cd to get the names?
What is the exact syntax for that mount.

Note: This has happened on multiple machines, with various CD/DVD readers and burners.
If Solaris 10 install were clean for the network, I wouldn't be fooling around with sneaker-net-CD's :-)
