Java SE (Java Platform, Standard Edition)

Have seen lots of threads with similar details but I don't think i've come across anything exactly like this. Essentially I have the above 2 sun JRE's installed. I need to be able to select - either by a registry change/config change etc so that ie6 can be launched with either of the 2 JRE's on demand (thereafter I can script 2 startup icons on the desktop for the 2 different browser environments on demand). Note that I cannot use another browser (i know it's possible with for instance using ie6 and firefox via plugins folder and this works - i must use ie6 for both versions). Have seen lots of refs to registry and java control panel changes but none of these seem to work (i verify my JRE by pointing to http://www.javatester.org/version.html). Also, enableSecureStaticVersioning I don't think applies as the code is not specific to any version of java/doesn't call any specific version.
