Need to perform Insert Update on same page using ADF/ADF Faces

Hi I need to perform insert and update using the same page involving multiple tables ( right now it is 2)
I followed the steps given at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/bc4j/multientityvo.html and it does not work. May be I did something wrong or something is missing.

Any help will be appreciated in this matter.
