Need a section collapse control on the Dasboard not on the eachpage

Hi,
I have a requirement to implement a section collapse ON/OFF control on the dashboard.what are the possible solutions to implement this.
IN the dashboard page each section has collapse option.my client wants to implement this feature on the dashbaord it self like give option to the user to select the ON/OFF button/link on the top of dashboard. please provide your valuable solutions. thanks
