Need 1st, 2nd,3rd and 4th parts of a delimited text

Hi Folks,

I saw some of the earlier conversations around making use of REGEXP_SUBSTR function with pipe delimited and comma delimited ones.
But I have a carrot delimited string, which I'm unable to parse.
I have some string like with 4 parts in the string delimited by "^" symbol.

311^19980314^14^3975

How can I get the 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th parts seperately?
Your help is highly desirable.

Thanks in advance.
