Near real-time Med Administration data (push or subscription models?)

Andrei GarineJun 19 2025

Hi Oracle Health team,

We are currently exploring ways to access medication administration data from the Cerner EHR in near real-time, similar to what is possible with HL7 v2 event-driven interfaces.

We understand that FHIR APIs allow us to pull data by patient ID or patient groups, but we are specifically interested in push-based or event-driven mechanisms, such as the FHIR Subscription resource.

According to the HL7 FHIR R4 specification, Subscription is designed to support real-time notifications. Could you please clarify:

Is the FHIR Subscription resource currently implemented or supported in Oracle Health Millennium?
If not, are there alternative mechanisms (e.g., proprietary APIs, webhooks, or eventing services) available to receive medication administration events in near real-time?
Are there any best practices or recommended architectures for achieving this kind of integration?

We’d appreciate any guidance or documentation you can share.

Thank you!
