NAS/SAN cheap solution for OVM Server

Hi:

I'm trying to find a storage solution (cheap under 1000usd) that would allow to be used as to server the /OVS repository. Does it would work with any NAS that support iSCSI ? I've been looking to Drobo, Synology and QNAP storage solutions.. anyone here have used any of those?

The OVS repository can be an iSCSI target? An iSCSI target already has the filesystem type or it's formatted with OCFS later? When a storage solution says that supports only ext3, ext4, does this means that it would not work the iSCSI because does not support OCFS for /OVS repos?

I'm a bit confused cause I'm a rookie in the storage department :(
