Multiple SSL Certs on Multiple Virtual Servers

807567May 5 2004 — edited Jul 21 2004
Here's my dilemma.

I have one machine, one IP, one domain. The requirements are to have 9 websites on the server. No big deal there. My hang up is they all have to be SSL.

I configured the server as one website, SSL, port 443 and built a menu system for each site. However, the requirements now is that all 9 sites have to be able to be started and stopped independant of each other and they all must be SSL.

How do I setup multiple virtual servers each with their own SSL certificate? How do I bind a cert to a different port other than 443? Adding additional IPs or domains are not possible. I have scoured forums and websites looking but no clear answer has been found.

Anyone have offical documentation telling me YES or NO this can or cannot be done with my environment?

Thanks.
