Multiple Java versions

I have multiple web applications each using a different version of Java. Upon installation of Java 1.5.0_06 for a new web app, all previous apps using earlier versions of Java ceased to run properly.
Is there a way to force each application to utilize it's own Java version while keeping the 1.5.0_06 version installed?
