Multiple default routers in Solaris

807557Mar 19 2008 — edited Mar 20 2008
Hello to all,
I have Solaris box with 2 NICs.
What I want to do is to configure two different IP adressess to those two NICs and those adressess to be in different subnet with different default routers. I will force Solaris not to act as a router (touch /etc/notrouter) and thus disable IP forwarding.
My question is can this be done? How Solaris relates /etc/netmasks entries with /etc/hostname.xxx files (IP adressess)? Can /etc/defaultrouter file contain 2 or more IP adressess? If so, on which default router an IP packet will be sent when it's destination is not in the local subnet?
Please share similar configurations.
Dejan.
