multiple database accounts share the same password

Emad Al-MousaSep 2 2016 — edited Sep 5 2016

Hi,

Let us say that on an Oracle database instance, a proponent has multiple accounts on the database and he reset the passwords for all accounts with the same password. The profile is set correctly and he needs to reset each account with the right complexity required as defined in the profile.

however, from instance level the database will contain multiple "legitimate"  common passwords for multiple accounts......is this OK from security perspective ??? IF NOT, is there any solution for it.

password management are from "profile" level, but nothing from "instance" level to avoid having  the same password for multiple accounts !!

Thanks,
