Hi Members,
Our organization had one BU and accordingly Oracle Grants was setup. We gave users Grant Admin role, and they were able to create Awards for every organization (each having different award templates).
Now it is decided to add one more BU to the Organization structure. We created the new BU and the Organization tree / Business function properties for each BU is set accordingly at BU, Contract, Grant level and CRM multi-BU profile level. But when we tried to create awards for the new BU we got the following error message.
"The business unit is defined. Users who want to create awards are resources in the Resource directory for the required business unit. The Multiple Business Units profile option is set to Yes if you want to enable multiple business units for contracts. If not, set this profile option to a default business unit. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Specify Customer Contract Management Business Function Properties task to set the scope as the business unit in which the award must be created, and complete the setup. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Assign Business Unit Business Function task to set the scope as the business unit in which the award must be created, verify that the Customer Contract Management check box is selected, and complete the setup. The Manage Data Access for Users task is completed for users with the necessary roles."
We validated the above setup, and all looked good. Still, the user was not able to create the award for the new BU. Then for that particular user we did the following changes, and later the user was able to create awards for the new BU as well -
Created a new Contract organization.
Associated the Contract organization with the new and existing business unit.
Associated the Contract organization with the user n Resource directory.
Do you think this is the right way OR you believe we are missing something before and the steps 1,2 and 3 are not at all required.
Thanks.
