Multiple APEX Version Compatibility

Hi there,

Now that APEX release 3.1 has been formally released I'd like to clarify it's compatibility with previous releases.

Will I be able to Export (applications, items, images, etc) from a previous release and Import them into a 3.1 instance. Are there any pitfalls to be aware of.

And presumably backward compatibility is not supported.

Finally but most importantly, if I want to have multiple versions of APEX running does that mean I require a separate database instance for each version?
