multipath rescan after SAN failover/failback

Court_Mar 20 2018 — edited Apr 12 2018

I am curious if anyone has an idea of how to rescan disk and multipath after a failover or failback. Currently I have been testing failover/failback of srdf/a on VMAX. I usually just do an unmount of the file system(s), a vgchange, and a vgexport, then failover. On the DR side, and on the primary site after a failover, or failback, the device seem to be read-only. Which they technically were at one point during the failover/failback. I have tried running rescans and multipath reloads, but it doesn't seem to resolve the issue. I usually remove the path, delete the disk associated with the path, then do a rescan, Then the disk are accessible. I am trying to see if there is an option that I may not be aware of that will make the system aware that the disks are write-enabled again.
