MultiBoot - WinXP & Solaris 10 in SameDisk, How & Errors found

807559Aug 13 2006 — edited Aug 19 2006
Hi guys,

I wish to install Solaris 10 on the same disk with Windows XP, which is installed already.

I've followed the article post by Ifeyinwa Okoye @ Dec 05 @ Multi-Booting the Solaris 10 OS, Linux, and MS Windows on a Laptop, however the pecedures outlined are not detailed enough.

Nevertheless, I've used PowerQuest's PartitionMagic to partition a 'Type BF' space for solaris and boot up with Solaris 10 CDs. After installation and reboot, there is a menu pops up asking me which OS to boot:

1. Solaris
2. Failsafe mode
3. Windows

If I press windows, there is an error saying ...

I've tried to use the PM rescue discs and set solaris partition hidden and Windows active to boot up windows. When I entered windows, there is a constant error msg keep pop up, saying:

'svchost.exe application error: 0x6da962bb cmd reference's 0x000000000 memory. Memory cannot be 'written'

Does anyone know how to fix this memory error? And How can i fix up the multiboot problem?

It will be very great if some pros can give me some hints :D
