Multi-threading with 10g OLAP

296882Feb 16 2007 — edited Feb 20 2007
In Express it was easy to do export tasks (ie export to EIF / or Text Files) and leverage off multiple processors , by using XCA calls to spawn new XCA sessions to export seperate slices simultaneously.

I realise in 10G the need for EIFs is probably reduced, however if using OLAP as the source for writeback to some other system, you may wish to do something similar with Text files.

Does anyone know a good way to achieve this? For large file dumps, working in parallel dramatically reduces the time from my experience.

Is there anything in the OLAP APIs ,or perhaps you could port data to the RDBMS, then using sql extract data to file in multple sessions.?

Regards,
Imran
