Multi-Row search in interactive report within APEX

Problem: I need to be able to search for multiple items within the same column of an Interactive Report.

I know there is a "Filter" that I can choose the column name from the first drop down, select "in" from the second drop down, and then either type or select the values I would like to show.

Is there a way to either:

1. Make the "Filter" box automatically show when the page loads so the User doesn't have to try and find it?

2. Make a new search box that will basically do the same thing as the "Filter" option?
