Multi-lingual Support by Reports for E-business Suite

51564Sep 17 2002
Hi,

I quote the following from the article eBiz_Tech_Essentials.pdf from OTN:

Global Operation:
Multiple languages supported on a single server
Reports Server selects language at runtime
Users see reports in their preferred languages

How does reports do this? For example if there is a word on my report say, "Business Requirements", how do I translate that to French at runtime to "Conditions D'Affaires" ? Is there any packaged utility from Oracle to do this or is it already there in Reports? Or is it just a one-to-one mapping in the database. For eg. for every english word a corresponding french word?

My actual requirement is to make an application completely multi-lingual. It should be usable from US to Europe to Arabia to China to India. Is this possible? Or do I have to make different versions of each of these?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks
Alex Varghese
