MTTR

Chri$AAug 15 2014 — edited Aug 24 2014

Hello,

I was testing the MTTR settings

Accessing my OEM I can see that the estimated MTTR is 35 sec and the desired MTTR is set to 0

This should mean that oracle is autotuning the checkpoint so the amount of redo logs between checkpoints based on I/O statistics ( correct me if I'm wrong )

Now if I lower the desired MTTR to 15 sec or if I raise it to 55 sec perhaps , I expect theĀ  Estimated MTTR to lower or to raise but if I query:

select RECOVERY_ESTIMATED_IOS,ACTUAL_REDO_BLKS,TARGET_REDO_BLKS,TARGET_MTTR,ESTIMATED_MTTR from v$instance_recovery;

The ESTIMATED_MTTR stays set to 35 sec

Why ?

Thank you !!
