MTD and YTD values

hi

I have requested to generate a MTD (month-to-date) YTD (year-to_date) values from invoices transactions.

the issue is that I have more than a million records that if I run the functions for each record will takes very long time , maybe infinite.

could you please suggest a suitable solution for such case??!!
