I have a requirement from a hotel company. The requirement is to calculate the occupancy percentage, average room rate, revpar, total revenue, room revenue, other revenue and Food & Beverage Revenue (where the last 4 measures are already provided in the source data). The attributes of the hotel are rooms occupied, rooms available, total revenue, room revenue, F&B revenue and other revenue.
I figured out how to create the measure columns for occupancy percentage and etc. But the client wants the MTD and YTD calculation for Actuals, Budget, Forecast and Last year data. I reckon using TIme Series functions would suffice but it gives me lot of complications.Can any one please suggest me how to calculate MTD and YTD values for the above mentioned measures ? I am a novice to Business Intelligence and would really appreciate any help. I am almost there but still missing final piece of jigsaw.
