Got a bit of a problem with messed up ODBC drivers that I hope someone can help me with.

I wanted to learn Oracle Reports, Designer et al., so I picked up the 10g developer's tool kit. This required installing the 10g client. Prior to this, I had the 9i client installed, and was running an application that used the MS ODBC driver to talk to an Oracle 8 database.

After installing XP SP 2 and the 10g client, I find that ODBC connections set up through my 9i home no longer work, and neither do connections through the MS driver.

Using MSAccess to test the connection, the MS driver gets as far as password entry then dies with "Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr Failed IM006"

Using the 9i client through MS Access, I get an immediate "ODBC - call failed". That's all.

The 10g client connects without problem. But I really need to get the MS driver working again, as I can't maintain the app if I can't run it.

Any ideas, short of uninstalling all Oracle and starting from scratch?
