MS Access to APEX migration best practices

eladnerAug 20 2009 — edited Aug 24 2009
Hey all, and thanks in advance for any responses.

I have an Access database (I'm not an Access coder myself) that I'm trying to migrate to APEX. After trying a test migration, it seemed a mess and the Access front end itself seems fairly non-standard and kind of messy. Are there any docs on best practices in Access to enable a smoother migration to APEX?

One thing I noticed in the migration once the sql file was loaded into APEX was that most (80%) of the forms were invalid because of invalid sources, or the forms had no source at all for some reason. I couldn't quite figure out why the forms had no source (seems weird to me), but I couldn't make heads or tails of the source forms in the Access Db. I have knowledgable Access people in the office to help with changes to the source db, but I think I need some pointers on what to look for or what to change first.

Thanks again,

Eric.
